The first transmission from the Black Peters label is ‘Hells Kitchen’, two cuts of transcendental techno for the twilight hours on the dancefloor. ‘Lust’ opens with tough, broken-beat percussion and a subtly infectious melody, before the reverberant pulse of a kick drum sets the tone. The elements evolve and flow throughout the extended run time, taking the mood up high and back again. On the B-side, ‘Hells Kitchen’ bursts into life with a gritty lead and brisk pace. It snakes through the darkest corners of Peters’ sound, illuminating everything in its path.
