Revolution EP

Revolution EP

Italy has produced some of historys greatest musicians and composers. From the opera masters, Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini, to the modern dance geniuses, Tale of Us, Marco Corola and Joseph Capriati. Our next artist takes on the musical troupes of the latter by implementing romanticised motifs found from the former. Downpour Recordings would like to introduce you to Ermess. This Italian producer has spent the past several years culminating an impressive production catalog. With releases that span across the globe and events that make his hometown proud, he is quickly growing into a name whos sound is easily distinguishable amongst his contemporaries. His featured EP with us, Revolution, is a four track work of art that binds together the elements of classical music and modern melodic techno in a uniquely satisfying way.

The first record on Revolution is dubbed Fine. This original mix is a deep techno track that brings out Ermess true musical persona. Its steady rhythmic progression is coupled alongside a synthetic horn that evolves throughout the record. This synthetic horn is run alongside a classic grouping of acidic-like sounds. When combined these elements create a musical texture that simply force you to dance.

Up next is Glory. This second feature is the Revolutions darkest record. With heavy dark undertones that eat away at the little light sounds he creates, Glory is an adventure into what we will define as Ermess sonic Revolution. Strings, deep baselines, and progressive elements, Glorys name speaks exactly towards how it sounds.

Revolution (Original Mix) serves as this EPs main event. 808 drums coupled alongside dubby, acid lines and uncanny oneshot vocal blips Revolution takes the listener there-and-back again. The entirety of the record follows what can be defined as a groovy weirdness. One that is danceable and also thought provoking.

Ermess concludes his EP with a track titled The Art of Indifferent. This record begins with dark pads that expand into a vocal hum which comes to carry the further progression of every other deep element Ermess introduces into the track. The essence of this record is reminiscent of that classic deep techno sound from Italy we have all come to love.
