For Lange Recordings 033 we welcome back big label favourite Steve Brian. It's clear to see why Steve has become such a big hit, not only with Lange Recordings but with music lovers worldwide as 'Mojo' becomes Steve's third release on Lange Recordings. His first release on the label was back in September 2009 as he marked his arrival with the gorgeous 'Starlight' which was not only featured on Lange's Intercity Summer 2009 Compilation, ATB's The DJ Vol.5, In Trance We Trust Australia Vol. 2 but also received massive support from Gareth Emery, Blake Jarrel, Mat Zo, Roger Shah and many more.
'La Gomera' followed in 2010 which included the critically acclaimed Cressida remix. The track became a 'Future Favourite' on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance show and was 'Record of the Week' on Above & Beyond's Trance around the World show. Further support came from Andy Moor, Kyau & Albert, Menno de Jong, Dash Berlin, Ronski Speed, Daniel Kandi, First State and many many more elevating Steve's status as one of the scene's rising stars!
With Mojo he opens the track in his typically progressive fashion, building with layers of lovely synths and strings. The breakdown is where the magic happens, with broken beats, hypnotic swirling synths and a lush vocal sample . Add to this a warm, driving bassline and you have a simply beautiful, hugely uplifting production.
Remix duties this time fall to Steve's old production pal Marksun, with whom Steve began his career as 'Marksun and Brian'. Marksun has really outdone himself with this remix upping the ante by giving the original a little more power whilst still keeping that uplifting feel of the original.
To complete the package we have the mighty 'Maspalomas'. Maspalomas is undoubtedly the most powerful track of the bunch with a hard hitting bassline, plenty of tough percussion and some great vocal samples thrown into the breakdown to keep things uplifting.
Overall a great package from Steve who has done the business for us yet again!
