Bio:
She is Tetra. The electronic pop singer-songwriter with a powerful voice singing evocative and infectious lyrics over atmospheric soundscapes and intricate beats.
Tetra began singing and songwriting at a young age and went on to study at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. There she began collaborating with singer/songwriter/producer Ben Cohen. Together they've developed a unique sound based on painfully honest lyrics, unforgettable hooks and innovative production elements.
Tetra loves creating bold stories and situations that encourage her audience to dive into the music and get lost in thought. She's clearly drawn to musicians that share the same love for creative storytelling, as some of her favorite artists are Hozier, Purity Ring, and FKA Twigs.
Now located in LA, Tetra takes on an explosive sound that is bound to keep listeners on their toes.
Reviews:
"The sensual yet powerful Tetra is a well-known commodity in the L.A. area. With this deliciously sumptuous EP, she tries to make new inroads into a wider audience. This new offering from Tetra is full of catchy hooks, top notch production and can be played from beginning to end without skipping a track.
Tetra’s vocals on the album are sultry and sexy, yet sung with enough power to resonate boldly with listeners. Her synth tinged voice on this EP reminds me of artists like FKA Twigs, Lady Gaga and Swedish singer Robin Miriam (aka Robyn). Tetra also doesn’t make the mistake of overindulging on the audio effects on vocals, which some electronic artists can be prone to. Nothing is worse than listening to a house or electro-pop singer who sounds like a Transformer instead of a human.
The back beats and production on this album are, simply put, killer. This EP isn’t full of redundant drum machine patterns and cliché dubstep wobble bass, but instead incorporates a variety of electronic styles and influences to create a distinctive sonic backdrop. The production quality and background grooves could easily stand toe-to-toe with any offering from similar artists.
As a whole, the songs on this EP are well crafted, catchy and creative." - Rant Hollywood
" Tetra isn’t afraid to break the rules, and her daring nature and creative mind prove a massive force of nature. It makes for exquisitely produced bliss." - Static Multimedia
"Tetra is an electronic musician from Los Angeles with a raw and rootsy approach on her new EP, Meter. Tetra’s voice, like her music, is soulful and bluesy, a feat rare in a genre notorious for regularly being devoid of both." - Big Takeover
"Tetra's EP, Meter, blends precise electronic synths and percussion beats with a voice so raw and powerful that it will send chills down your spine.
