Kantana’s Biography

Before he became known to the world as Kantana, young Eric Williams was just another youth with the dream of becoming one of dancehall’s finest. Born to parents Annette Gray and Eric Williams, Kantana hails from the beautiful parish of Portland, but later moved to Kingston, where he attended the Calabar High School.
Currently, Kantana lives in Jacks Hill where he is fully focused on building his empire, the Young Star Family. There, he stands as a mentor for many youths by providing them with a musical platform and encourages them, as he was encouraged and guided by his godfathers in the business, Biggimani (Big A) and Bankeylous.
Kantana is from a resolutely un-musical family; everything he says, comes from his passion and his desire to be successful in the business. He describes himself as an optimistic individual who is always up for the challenge. He is a prolific lyricist and songwriter, driven only by this desire, a desire that has been with him fro
