Portrait
NAMELESS. Taking up a name, which is not really one, to put music first, avoid barriers and divisions. But don’t get it wrong: this name – inherited from their first teen-age gig – is in no way a sign of lack of personality. As the figurehead of a modern, refined, “French chic” pop spirit, NAMELESS is before all a band united by the love of everything beautiful: the bouquet of an old Bordeaux, the grain of a Fender Stratocaster, the old-fashioned elegance of a bow tie. However, their Frenchy and even somewhat patriotic epicureanism doesn’t make the words of these four spruced-up boys any less universal: their songs pay tribute to the great times of pop music without ever indulging in any inappropriate attachment to the past. Between sophisticated rock and colourful pop, t he music of these romantic, dandyish, yet not precious, rockers explores the revival vein with talent, and their 80s-reminiscent pop rock tunes take the listener on a trip through the best years of pop music. After a sold-out concert at Point Ephémère on September 20th 2013, NAMELESS announces the release of a new EP “Portrait” for April 2014. Something to chew on while waiting for their album… and many other beautiful things to come.
