HAVASI then and now
Balazs HAVASI graduated from the piano faculty of the Liszt Ferenc University of Music. He already taught piano in the Conservatory of Budapest at the age of 21, where his students were often older than him in the initial years. His classes were then soon filled with young people; he earned respect with his unpretentious approach and professional prowess. He gave concerts in several European cities as a classical musician and also won several piano competitions, including the international Yamaha Piano Contest organized by the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe.
However, the year 2005 brought about a turning point in his career. That was the year when he bid farewell to classical music and the crossover genre – even if not for good – so that he could dedicate all his attention to his own compositions. Four albums of
