The Afromation
People who understand and appreciate Techno and Deep House music, are probably familiar with how Detroit continues to play a major role in shaping this genre of music around the world. Thanks in part to Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May, former Detroit DJ/ producer Reggie Dokes has had plenty of inspiration to draw from. Having created his own imprint called Psychostasia Recordings, the fledgling label has received international attention from various electronic music magazines like XLR8R and DJ Mag, and has developed a small fan base which can be found in parts of Europe and Asia. Although most of his productions are eclectic, and can be found on vinyl, he decided to take it to the next level in 2004 and release his first full-length CD album. Although Djing is his first love, which has taken him as far as Europe, his passion has become producing and recently songwriting. If you have an appreciation for down tempo electronic music that touches areas of jazz, Detroit-style techno and Deep House, then you will appreciate this album from a new Atlanta transplant ,who is making his mark on the world of electronic music.
