Although "Olio" is his debut CD, New England native Kevin Byrne is no newcomer to the world of music. Born and rared in the folk tradition, his father a heavily active Irish balladeer and story teller, Kevin has both kept to his roots and pulled from his American upbringing to develop his style of music which he describes as "Forward thinking with modern instrumentation and arrangement but never losing sight of the simple premise of melody and song.".
