Minn Qalbi... with Love!

Minn Qalbi... with Love!

Adie's album 'Minn qalbi...with Love!' contains Adie's best songs in her native language, one of which really established her as a talented and promising local artist in the Maltese Islands and which is also included in the title of her cd album - 'Minn Qalbi'. Also, Adie chose to include 5 English songs in this album, some of which were also composed and written by her and in which one of them was chosen amongst all European countries to be part of a CD for 'peace'. This song is called 'Dawn of a new day'. This is the reason behind Adie's CD Album's name that is written in 2 languages, Maltese and English.
Adie owns the copyright to the songs written and/or composed by her.

Biography:

From when she was three and a half years old up to when she was 11, Adie studied ballet, modern and tapping at Alison White’s Dance Studios and took part in various pantomimes at one of the most prestigious theatres in Malta – The Manoel Theatre – as well as in other venues. She also modelled for a very popular retail brand to display kids wear on local magazines and newspapers during these years.

At 10 years, Adie won a very important Talent Show organised locally where she had to sing and dance. At this age, she also started experimenting with writing lyrics and composing her own songs.

At age 11, she won the finals of Malta’s main Karaoke show broadcasted on TVM that was held in Senglea, a town in the South of Malta.

At the age of 12, Adie started professional voice training and participated in various competitions and festivals and gained a lot of exposure on the local media as well as contributed to the build-up of her fan base. In fact, Adie's talent and her success in these festivals and competitions did not leave her unnoticed and prompted the leading Maltese song writers and composers to propose to her new material for her new album.

In her teenage years, Adie was involved in musicals as well as other shows and operettas organised locally by elite companies. She was also one of the leaders of Tensing YMCA – a group who used to sing voluntarily in the narrow streets of Valletta, to collect funds for the homeless. This continued for a good 10 years.

She also sang in Sicily as a supporting act to Italian artists like Scialpi, Riccardo Fogli and Luca Barbarossa at age 14, and debuted with her 1st song ever ‘Have fun in this world’ that was written when she was only 10 years old. There were over 10,000 people and for Adie, this was a huge success.

At age 16, Adie spent a good two and a half years as a resident singer on XARABANK – Malta’s top talk-show programme in d past 15yrs. Given the versatility of her repertoire, at this young age, Adie was engaged to give live shows in a number of Malta's leading hotels to entertain their international guests.

In the meantime, Adie continued writing, composing and recording songs whilst she was studying at University and reading a Bachelor in Primary Education degree.

In 1999, Adie (as a leader of the YMCA Tensing group) together with the Maltese Group of Tensing (Teenagers Singing) went to Prague in the Czech Republic to represent their country - Malta. There they performed different popular cover versions in front of 2000 European students from all over Europe (who at that time, had Tensing groups in their country too) as well as in the prominent streets of Prague.

In 2003, Adie’s song ‘Dawn of a new day’ was one of the chosen 10 finalist songs to be included in a CD Album for peace organised by Euromed Café.

In 2004 Adie concluded her studies and graduated as a Primary school teacher. However, her love towards music never stopped.

From the year 2005 up to this very year, Adie has been taking part in live concerts organised by a very well-known group of companies specialised in music and entertainment, in venues such as The Old Opera House in Valletta, The Catholic Institute in Floriana and other prestigious venues around the island.

In September of 2006, Adie was given the opportunity of presenting a programme twice a week on a local radio station and during these two years, Adie also worked as a disk jockey in different establishments to gain experience in this area too.

In 2009, she decided to change her real name Adrienne into a shorter one – Adie – and in this same year, her long time dream, that of having her own CD Album, came true. Adie’s Album ‘Minn qalbi…with Love! was launched on March 28th of the same year thanks to the Valletta Local Council who gave her full support. It contains 5 songs in her native language, and another 5 in English, some of which were written and composed by her.

Currently she is being invited on various local radio stations and television programmes to promote her album. Adie is also performing live on special occasions and events organised locally.

On July 25th 2009, Adie was also a guest singer at the prestigious Coca-Cola Malta Music Festival and she was also one of the resident singers on PJAZZA, a local Summer entertainment programme broadcasted on the National TV Station - TVM.

Adie’s songs are also being heard and appreciated in Australia and in Canada since they are two countries that have quite a good number of Maltese people living there.
