Innocent When You Dream

Innocent When You Dream

San & Emily Slomovits' debut album, released in 2013, features an eclectic mix of musical styles; everything from the Elvis standard “Can’t Help Falling in Love” to San’s own homage to Ann Arbor’s Zingerman’s Deli to the title track, Tom Waits’ ballad “Innocent When You Dream”. Emily and San’s classical-infused vocal harmonies can be heard on the traditional English ballad “The Water Is Wide”, bassist Jacob Warren and Emily blend violin and bass in the Hebrew melody “Eli, Eli” and Jacob’s bass is the backbone for Jonathan Larson’s Rent rock song “One Song Glory”. The album was recorded and produced by Emmy-winning pianist and composer Brian Brill, at Brill’s Attic Studio in Chelsea Michigan, and his piano stylings can be heard on all of the album’s tracks. Stephanie Douglass writes in the Ann Arbor Observer that the trio has “…boundless charisma and talent.”
