These songs were written over the course of two years and finally recorded in two weeks in May 2009 at a little house in a little town in Wales. The songs are a look at the effect relationships can have on young adult life, and while the lyrical content is very personal and unique, it's easy to relate to the emotion that inspired it. Extreme care was put into every note that was composed, some guitar lines even taking one hundred takes to get them as perfect as possible. While the album has a myriad of styles and influences, they all meld together into one solid album, nothing seems out of place. 'Reasons To Be Quiet' gives a very brief but informative insight into the musical mind of Darren Giles and the range of styles he has applied himself to. Similarities have been drawn with Minus The Bear and The National, while lyrical influences such as Dave Matthews and Jesse Lacey are abundant.
