Viva La Musica
Viva La Musica
The latest release by Claud Rivers, “Viva La Musica,” (Long Live Music), is one of his best efforts to date. It contains a great variety of songs and is befitting the title. It has (5) five very distinctive jazz tunes that are both fresh and invigorating to the listener. Two have a Latino flavor. One uses the Koto, a Japanese instrument. And two use a pair of saxophones to deliver the melodies. These jazz selections, while very smooth and relaxing, keep you anticipating what’s next. Claud has done a great job orchestrating these pieces. Several could easily be used by big bands without creating any extra parts. His arrangements make them sound like a big band is performing them on the CD. I think several of these songs will eventually be picked up by the motion picture industry. The quality , sound and freshness are all there and any of these songs would enhance any picture or scene. Film directors should take a serious listen to these tunes if they are looking for theme songs f
