Sean Scales is making his way into the gospel industry. This Ohio native is being compared to great vocalist old and new. An accomplished musician and producer, Sean began singing at the age of five in his grandfather’s church. The son of Pastor Donald and Evangelist Sherry Scales, Sean served as music director and minister at his parent’s church, “Man In Christ Ministries”, in Columbus, OH. At the age of 18, Scales, who stands six feet four inches tall, relinquished his career in basketball to pursue his God given destiny. In the year 2000, he released his first gospel recording, “Souled out to Jesus”, which peaked at number five on the most requested song list for “The Light” 1580 WVKO. With such vast abilities, he single handily produced, composed, arranged and performed all the vocals on the project. Scales, now 34, has written and produced the smash hit single "Alright" sang by Lowell Pye, which peaked at #15 on the Gospel Billboards and also as written the it single "Speechless" for Monica Lisa Stevenson, which is currently #36 on the Billboards . Sean Scales, has written and sung for national recording artist Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson. His contributions would earn “Wonderboy” a Stellar Award nomination. He has shared the stage with national recording artist such as Lisa McClendon, Charles Woodfork, Quan Howell (former member of Sounds of Blackness) and more.
