I began writing American History songs while teaching 8th grade Middle School students. They seemed to enjoy them and they said it really did help them learn history at the same time in a fun way. Now that I am retired from my 39-year teaching career I am hoping to help students AND adults learn more American History. It is a true labor of love for me to do this. I am picking an organization or charity to benefit from any profits from the sale of my history songs. I am choosing PCSS (Pinellas Council for Social Studies) as the organization to benefit from this single. This organization does a wonderful job of promoting the teaching and learning of history in Pinellas County. They are a worthy recipient. I also want to thank my cousin, Dan Spencer, a professional photographer, with his help in my artwork.
