Devan & Khalid recorded and released 'This Town EP' in the early months of 2014. The duo are Toronto natives, yet have had their home-base in Kingston for the past 4 years, where they attend university together. 'This Town' is comprised of 3 tracks, each with a distinct feel, and is an ode to their lives in Kingston.

Since the release of the EP, the duo have experienced great success within Ontario, and are continuing to grow in popularity within Canada. They are currently working on an album, to be released in Summer 2015, as well as a Fall 2015 tour.

Artist Bio's:

Khalid Yassein was born in Bowmanville, Ontario, where he grew up on his family farm. He studied classical piano from an early age, and became self-taught in guitar in his early teens. It was then that Khalid fell in love with songwriting, writing simple melodies and lyrics in his bedroom. Throughout high school, Khalid picked up multiple instruments and played in a diverse array of bands, developing as a guitarist and a singer. Late in his teens, he discovered his passion for folk music - finding idols in James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, and Nick Drake. These figures would become an immense influence on Khalid as an artist and songwriter. Upon graduation, Khalid elected to attend Queen's University to study biology, while hoping to continue his journey in music. He was grateful to have met Devan through mutual friends, who also shared his love for acoustic folk and indie music.

Devan was born in Toronto, but moved to London, England at a very young age and was raised there until age 14. Devan sang in choirs all throughout school, and loved to sing at every opportunity she had. She performed in school charity events, talent shows, plays, and assemblies. Devan also took lessons in vocals, guitar, and violin at a young age. The british influences she had growing up shaped much of Devan's musical interests and style today, with some of her biggest influences being Coldplay, Adele, Florence and the Machine, and Bombay Bicycle club. Devan’s parents shared her love of music, and would always play old classics like James Taylor, Elton John, and Cat Stevens throughout the house, turning Devan onto more classic rock and folk styles. Devan returned to Canada at age 14, and now studies Psychology at University, whilst continuing to pursue her musical aspirations with Khalid.
