I was asked once as to how to make a song 'country'. Here are some examples of some of my favorite songs in a quasi-country style. Ranging from country staples as 'The Tennessee Waltz', novelty Tom Lehrer from the 1950's, blues from Taj Mahal that was used in The Blues Brothers, 90's art-metal outfit Tool, Paul Simon, AC-DC, Frank Zappa to 1970's Turkish pop-Disco in Baris Manco's 'Nick the Chopper' (with special guest backup vocalist!); The Spiny Norman Project is a collection of eclectic music from my extensive collection that I love to sing and play and had a great time recording!
