Founded in 2001 DREAD played cover songs of Soulfly, Sepultura and Pantera. Only a few months later they started to rock the stages. After several line-up changes and a couple of demo recordings the guys hit the "Talent Forum Stage" at MetalCamp in Tolmin (Slovenia) in 2006. After a tour with Vital Remains through Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and Scotland a year later, DREAD entered the studio to record their official debut "Cerebral Mutation". It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Lukas Flarer at the Sound Control Studio in Italy. The coverartwork was done by Manuela Hainz. To support the album the band went on a European tour with Six Feet Under and Jungle Rot.
