Angelou
From stroller rides through the Venice Canals to performing teenage rock gigs on Hollywood Boulevard to volunteering on Skid Row, the Los Angeles experience has always been central to Angelou’s members. Whether sitting in with hometown hero Jackson Browne, playing the Echo Park Rising Music Festival, opening for fellow LA hippie Edward Sharpe or doing production work for David Foster, the members of Angelou have been finding their voice with the help of other musicians whose lives have been devoted to representations of love for Los Angeles.
Combining the close Zulu harmonies of Graceland, the gritty delta blues of Muddy Waters and the Staples Singers hopeful message of unity, Angelou creates a unique blend of positivity and musical ability that motivates audiences to look past what makes us different, to the joy that makes us the same.
