Trío los Paraguayos en Colonia
In 2010, some never released recordings of Trío Los Paraguayos were discovered in the archives of the German radio. They were original recordings of October/November 1954 and were probably made as a demo or for radiobroadcast purposes.
The trio (Agustín Barboza, Luis Alberto del Paraná and Digno García) came to Europe in 1954 to create awareness for their music on the continent. Their first album would be released in the winter of 1954/55 on Philips. This 25 inch record (Paraguayan Songs, Philips P 10403 R) was released in the spring of 1955 in many countries, including the Netherlands. It is unknown who the producer has been at the time, but the cover was designed by Leo Boudewijns, while the recordings were made in Brussels (De Stoofsteeg , Rue de l' étuve).
The recently discovered recordings were made in Cologne about two months before. Beside some familiar work, they also played a number of songs that were never published ever after. The trio was in the Cologne studio on October 14 and November 23, 1954
