Prove It
A2J is a Christian rock band from Chennai, India. The Band's vision to support social issues whist also sharing their faith can be seen in the songs they write. "Prove it" is their first album comprising of 10 tracks. The sound of the album is predominantly rock, with a mix of Country, Rap, Spanish and Indian influence. The album begins with the title track "Prove It" which is a guitar driven heavy sounding song. The second track "A2J" is a cover originally done by Carman. However; except for the lyrics and tune this version of the song is nothing like the original. It is a mix of rock, rap and melody running over a digital loop. An engine roar starts the next song "Route 119" which is based on psalm 119. The drive on this song makes a great listening for the road. The next song "Scars Remain" highlighting the cruelty of Abortion starts with a eerie, dark intro. A bit of progressive influence is seen in this song which is the most dark sounding song on this album. This is followed by four softer sounding songs, beginning with "No Matter What" which is a worship song with mix of contemporary and classic rock. Following this is a happy sounding metaphorical song "Bicycle Ride" drawing its influence from traditional country music; this song encourages people to join in the fight against slavery. This is followed by "Walk with Me Lord" which is an acoustic ballad with vocal harmonies more in the lines of "More than Words" and "Patience". The track "Justice Praise" is of a complete different genre and one that you would normally not identify with a rock band. The instrumental section is something to look out for. With additional percussion this song makes for great listening. The penultimate track "Secure" draws its influence from the 80's with a hint of progressive touch. The final track of the album "King of Kings" is a rendition of the classic hymn "Crown Him". With an additional interlude and melodic riffs this brings to end an amazing journey of 45 minutes.
