My music draws upon the harmonic ideas of traditional jazz, but uses sounds and rythms typical of contemporary jazz artists. I like the idea of harmonic movement, contrasted to some contemporary jazz, which can sometimes be a bit static and repetitive. My style tends to go back to players such as Joe Sample, Bob James, Jeff Lorber and other older contemporary jazz players, although I am greatly inspired by players such as Chick Corea, Lyle Mays, McCoy Tyner, Keith Jarrett and others. I believe jazz should possess interesting content but also listenable. Thie tune, "In the AM", encompasses the variation of rythms and harmonic content, while remaining very accessible.
