It crystallized from more than two years of collecting original source material in a variety of formats, mixing them into each other, collecting more material, remixing everything again...

The result is a lo-fi/hi-fi hybrid of intricately broken beats, filtered field recordings and caustic synth grooves - all strung together with a sarcastic knack for sampling. And while the sound is heavily machinated, there is obviously an unnerved human at the controls.

Used Materials features unique cameos and appearances by members of fellow Chicago acts including Epectir, Kim, Molar Mill, Quatre Tete, Ten Tongues and Timeout Drawer, with friends from Pal:ndrom (NY) and The Mass (SF).
