Colibri
Liane is a 24-year-old singer/songwriter from Portugal, currently living in the northern Portuguese city of Braga. Having always had a keen interest in music, she started taking singing lessons at age 14. A few years later, not being content with just singing anymore, she taught herself to play guitar and piano, and started composing and writing some of the songs that now take part in this debut album.
Now, two years after having begun to plan and work into it, Liane presents us with "Colibri" (Portuguese for "hummingbird"): a rock, pop, and acoustic journey through loss, pain, but most of all, a journey through the current socioeconomic. In spite of her country being the one that inspired her, Liane's lyrics resonate a range of worldwide concerns about capitalism, democracy, among other topics.
"Colibri" is a cry filled with despair, anger and revolt, but also with the hope of forgiveness and change.
