Independent artist Danny Kyle is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and instructor from Chatham in Kent. He is perhaps the Medway Delta’s best kept finger-picking secret with a thumb-driven guitar style often compared to the incredible Tommy Emmanuel.

Tipping his hat to the likes of Mississippi John Hurt, Ry Cooder and Chet Atkins, Danny’s songwriting combines the old and the new; guitar tradition meets inspiration. Swinging ragtime, 20’s & 30’s jazz, bouncing country blues, melodic ‘Piedmont’ style blues. Travelling songs, spiritual songs, instrumentals and ballads. There are touches of latin, calypso and gypsy jazz.

With a penchant for a well-crafted tune and a way with a poetic lyric, his style is at once highly melodic, rhythmic and engaging. Intricately finger-picked instrumentals, haunting melodies and beautifully emotive bottleneck-slide guitar.
