Simplicity

RDS articulate the emotional impasse of the 21st century.

They are three English singer-songwiters based in London who, like Lennon and McCartney, write heartfelt melodic tunes about their experiences and sing them together, taking it in turns to lead.

Their trademark is their three-part harmonies, two boys and one girl which have created comparisons with the Beautiful South and the Mamas and Papas.

From the lilting 21st century sea-shanty of Sometimes to the speed flamenco of I Need You, from the angry Paul Weller-like Don't Blame Me to the dreamlike Does it Really Matter?, their sound is retro-modern and timelessly melodic.

The band recorded the album in Bark Studios in East London in April and May 2001. They worked with Brian O'Shaughnessy who has also recorded with Primal Scream and Arnold.

Richard from the band toured the USA in June, playing 13 dates from San Francisco to New York. Perhaps he came to your town. Find out on our website!

The band number among their influences: The Beatles, Billy Bragg, Ian Dury, The The, David Gray, Travis, Crowded House, Ben and Jason, Everything but the Girl, Elliott Smith, REM, Ian Dury, Blondie, Til Tuesday, Aimee Mann, and the wonderful Adam Ant.
