No Apologies

No Apologies

John Barrett is stepping out from behind his drum kit once again and he’s not going to say he’s sorry. In his second release in as many years, John’s got a bit of an attitude. His songs tell the stories of fallen idols, freedom and how to deal with a bit of an anger problem.

“The songs on this CD have more of an edge to them – I’ve also taken more risks from an artist’s perspective than any other effort I’ve done” John states in a recent interview. He continues, “When I see an act that I like, it is usually because of two things, energy and attitude. It doesn’t matter if it is rock, R&B or some sort of experimental music, if the artist is stepping out, I am loving it. With ‘no apologies’ I really captured that in my performances. I also wanted to extend myself as an artist and a songwriter. I gave myself the freedom to try new things, write about different subjects and stretch further than I have in the past. It really puts you out there - I wasn’t interested in putting out a safe CD.”

There has already been buzz about John’s song ‘You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry’ and the new Incredible Hulk movie. “All I can say is that it is a great song and if you like it, download it!” John replies. “Everyone who has listened to the songs seems to have a favorite, but, that song is special”.

‘no apologies’ is John’s sophomore effort, and in this case, the second release is the strongest yet.
