Sen City

A little rough around the edges is the first thing one thinks of when you first see the newest member of the 730 Dips; Sen City. While under the umbrella of The Diplomats label, the 730 Dips are creating a dynamic set of artists with their prototype Sen City using the founding elements that have launched the careers of the founding fathers of The Diplomats; Jim Jones, Cam’ron, Freekey Zekey and Juelz Santana. Soulful is the furthest thing one would describe the self proclaimed “Mr. Ooohh” from Harlem but this MC and songster (song+monster) is here to paint a canvas all over billboard charts with his distinctive hooks and lyrical content. \r \r Early Years\r Sen short for Seneca, recollects his childhood as growing up in Harlem with drug dealers and stickup kids. While other kids were playing practical school jokes, during school hours Sen was getting his first hand experiences about Lenox Avenue bodegas. Sen quickly become a product of his environment by nature and had to grow up fast and fend for himself. While Sen’s father was hardly in the picture and incarcerated since 1986, Sen was shuffled to South Carolina with his grandmother who forced him to attend church. Sen realized he had a talent for singing soulful melodies with a raw and earthy sound. Singing kept him grounded but not for long. He tried to escape his father’s unfortunate path in life but it kept calling him and soon after Sen was now serving two bids between Upstate NY and Pennsylvania. \r \r Present Day\r While in and out of jail his long time friends, Jim Jones, Freekey Zekey and Jetlag Ash encouraged him to start rapping. Finding his middle ground, Sen began his own approach of harmonizing hooks. He collectively put his passion for Hip Hop and R&B to create a distinctive sound not to be mistaken for any other. Nas, Big L., AZ and R&B were just a few of his early inspirations. Not before long he took the interest of Jim Jones, Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane and Juelz Santana. Sen was later approached to be the newest member of 730 Dips with Ash, Tito Green and Rik. Sen took his time to foster his own image and music. Knowing everyone has their season “Nothing comes before its time.”, says Sen. With a plethora of singles, features and videos across the board via internet – Sen is no stranger to timely progression. He was heavily featured on Jim Jones ‘Ghost of Rich Porter’. Street and radio hits that started getting heavy traffic for Sen were ‘Right Up’ and ‘Toast’ with Capo, Jim Jones and ‘Haunted’ featuring Jim Jones and Gucci Mane. Presently records like ‘Round and Round’’ featuring J.R. Writer are getting heavy rotation in the streets, clubs and radio. “Im not gonna limit myself to the streets, my style can be so versatile I could see myself getting’ in work with someone like Tim McGraw or Keith Urban.”, says Sen. Sen’s catchy trademark is “Mr. Ooohhh” making him undeniably one the most talked about unsigned artist amongst his comrades in the Diplomatic community.\r \r With timely progression; Sen is not too easily swayed for the first record deal thrown his way, but rather the right situation. Sen’s next major move will be working on his mix tape ‘Until the Lights Turn Out’ continuing to build his brand with the 730 Dips and making timeless music for all genres to appreciate. –
